Will Tieman

In 2026-27, Will Tieman will celebrate his 30th season as the radio voice of Michigan State Basketball. Will’s journey with MSU began in the early 1990’s when the Athletic Director George Perles brought him to East Lansing, where he founded and served as president of the Spartan Sports Network, in an effort to help bring Michigan State into the modern era of broadcast media rights.

A fixture on the MSU football broadcasts for many years, Will has also served as host of the Tom Izzo Show and is the creative force behind the statewide daily radio series’ Inside the Huddle and The Michigan Sports Brief. A member of the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Will has received 15 Best Network Play-by-Play awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. He is a past-president of the Detroit Sports Media Association and is a proud honorary member of the Varsity S Club.

A portion of the proceeds from each shirt sold will go directly to the Will Tieman and Wendy Hart Men's Basketball Managers Fund, which helps fund scholarship support for these integral members of the MSU men’s basketball program.
