In 1925, Michigan Agricultural College became Michigan State College and sponsored a contest to replace their "Aggies" nickname. Not liking the winning name of "The Michigan Staters", the sports editor of the Lansing State Journal chose "The Spartans" instead.

Super soft heathered tri-blend poly/cotton/rayon (50/25/25) tee.
Designed in Michigan by The Mitten State. Assembled in USA.
