The Blizzard of 1978
On January 25th, 1978, a legendary blizzard struck Michigan. Snow piled high for days, shutting down schools, grocery stores, and highways. Snowmobiles became the only source of transportation.
And what did Michigan do?
We did what we always do: WE MADE THE MOST OF IT.
We partied. We got together with friends and family. We built snow forts.
We stuck together.
And some of us were even born during the blizzard. Chances are, you know someone that was...
The inspiration for 2 new tees:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the “I Survived the Blizzard of ’78” t-shirt! I was 9 that January of ’78 and remember it so well. We could go to our 2nd story window and jump out onto snow. Come on…git-r-done!
Can’t find the original video with audio of the blizzard with rock- ends w/baby wearing I survived the Blizzard of 78- you have many pics.
I remember it well. We had just moved to W Mich. I can’t believe I’m still here 40 years later.
“I survived the Blizzard of ‘78” is a t-shirt I would buy! And, I would buy one for all my friends and family who survived it too! It’s also the year I graduated from high school. Would be a great gift for some of my classmates. LOVED the photos! :)
Hey- we had a blizzard in Baltimore, Md. in 1978 too! Looked just like yours! Now I’m in Tampa- no more blizzards for me!
