THE STACHE

January 29, 2013

THE STACHE

For several years during the 1980s, Magnum PI aired every Thursday at 8PM on CBS. We loved the red Ferrari, the estate at Robin's Nest, and the beaches. But mostly, we loved that he rocked his Detroit roots.

Happy Birthday, Tom Selleck!

LEG WARMERS NOT INCLUDED.

January 29, 2013

LEG WARMERS NOT INCLUDED.

Cue the music: "I'm a maniac, maniac... And I'm dancing like I've never danced before!"

Flashdance was released in 1983 to that tune. And it'll be the tune you'll sing when you wear this super soft wideneck. Don't resist the urge to buy leg warmers. Really.

OBSERVANCE? NO. CELEBRATION!

January 25, 2013

OBSERVANCE? NO. CELEBRATION!

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Great Blizzard of '78. During the era of bell bottoms, disco, and earthy toned everything, a massive amount of snow covered Michigan, closing down streets, grocery stores, and even municipal buildings. To celebrate, we're running a sale on Blizzard shirts and hoodies until Sunday! And we're giving away two shirts for each day of the Blizzard on our fantastic Facebook page.

WZZM was kind enough to come out and visit us to talk about these super soft shirts. One correction, though: we're not commemorating the Blizzard; we're most definitely celebrating this anniversary! Check out the interview below.

BLIZZARD OF 1978 ANNIVERSARY

January 22, 2013

BLIZZARD OF 1978 ANNIVERSARY

35 years ago this week, the Great Blizzard of '78 covered the Great Lakes region in massive amounts of snow. Grocery stores closed, highways became impassable, snowmobiles were being used on the highway.  Even the State of Michigan capital building closed, something that has not happened since.  10 to 15 foot snow drifts shut down major avenues and boulevards.

To celebrate, take over 25% off the I Survived The Great Blizzard of '78 vintage shirts (in unisex and women's cuts).

And be on the lookout for a few giveaways on our magical Facebook page.

"NO... I AM YOUR FATHER."

January 17, 2013

"NO... I AM YOUR FATHER."

"No... I am your father."

Happy Birthday to living legend James Ear Jones! The man with the voice! Raised in Jackson, Michigan by his grandparents, he later lived in Berth and then attended the University of Michigan.

He overcame a debilitating stutter to give us one of the most memorable voices of all time... Darth Vader.

145 H.P. ENGINE!

Today in 1948, some crazy company in Detroit by the name of Ford started building the F-Series trucks. What a crazy bunch of guys. It's not like that truck series still exists... Wait a minute...

Nice job, Ford!

CHANGE GEARS MYSELF? PLEASE.

January 7, 2013

CHANGE GEARS MYSELF? PLEASE.

Can you drive a manual? Today in 1950, Chevy introduced the first automatic transmission for the masses. The Power Glide was gobbled up by America at a lightning quick pace - over 300,000 Chevrolets were sold within its first year.

Clearly, America could not be bothered to use a clutch! After GM's success, the remaining two of the Big Three jumped on the bandwagon, ending the reign of the manual transmission and further proving that the Motor City was the leading innovator in the auto world.

Sports cars should always have a manual, though. Don't even try to convince us otherwise.
