PANTHERS WIN IT ALL

Today in 1983, the Michigan Panthers won the first USFL Championship title by taking down the Philadelphia Stars in Denver. Quarterback Bobby Heber connected with wide receiver Anthony Carter (yeah, that Anthony Carter) on a 48 yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter, ending the game 24-22.
It was the first pro football league in Michigan since the Lions in 1957.
